Best to direct sow outside after last frost where you plan for the plant to grow, the roots of this plant do not like to be disturbed so the plant does not transplant well from a seed cell to its final home.
Plant 1 seed per spot 1/4" deep in well draining soil. Water very gently and keep hydrated until germination. Can take 7-14 days to sprout from the seed.
If growing more than one keep 12" apart cus they can get big and bushy 1'-3' tall and up to 2' wide. Leaves and stalks get "spikey" as the plant grows so please use gloves when handling once the plant is mature.
Thrives in full sun to partial shade, super low maintenance.
This plant self seeds which means it will drop many seeds which will grow as volunteers for you the next year.
