Save the butterflies! These Narrowleaf Milkweed seeds are the ONLY source of food for the monarch caterpillars. We need more of these along their migration route. Flowers are also a pollinator magnet and your native species will love you for it.

Each packet comes with atleast 25 precious seeds harvested Fall of 2024.

Recommended to grow this species of milkweed ONLY in western portions of the US/Canada. If you're on the east coast, search for milkweed native to your areas. This is important and should not be ignored.

WILL NEED COLD treatment, meaning stick this packet into your freezer when you get it for at least 1 month before planting in early spring OR plant directly in the ground outside immediately. The cold helps wake the seeds up as if though they were outside during winter. If your seeds dont wake up cus your winter is almost over, they will probably wake up next year, so not all is lost.

Plant 1 seed per cell 1/8” deep in soil, barely cover cus the seeds need light to sprout. Water GENTLY and keep hydrated until germination. Don't plant all of them at the same time unless you wanna try for possibly 25 milkweed plants. Save some seeds incase this round fails or for future years. Or share with friends!

(after cold treatment) depending on your growing zone, grow indoors or outdoors as Spring approaches. I'm in zone 9b and direct sowed my seed into the ground during fall and forgot about them until they sprouted in spring. A great chaos garden candidate if you need one.

Full sun is ideal, partial shade is tolerated. Can grow in pots, in ground, or raised beds.

Perennial plant can grow up to 3' tall and 2' wide. The first year she will stay small and compact and might not give lots of flowers or seeds. Cut back dead stalks to about 6 inches in late fall or winter, watch out the stems are super sappy and sticky so wear gloves and clean your shears after. She will grow back in the Spring bigger and stronger. Harvest new seed pods before they pop all the way or your baby seeds will spread everywhere (unless thats what you want).
